Joint Fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD)

We are seeking International applicants for a two-year fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). This exciting joint program is offered by the University Hospital of Münster, Germany and the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, GB. Both centres are major tertiary referral centres with an excellent track record of clinical care and academic output. The successful applicants will be expected to spend one year in Münster and one year in London.

We offer exposure to all clinical aspects of ACHD (excluding hands-on invasive work at present). In addition, involvement in research is expected and mentorship for academic work will be provided. In order to permitclinical work and to maximize the benefits for applicants, candidates should have good English language skills to enable effective communicationwith patients and colleagues. German language skills may be of advantage but are not a prerequisite. The successful applicants will be expected to have Cardiology experience equivalent to, or have completed specialist training in Cardiology.Applicants should ideally be eligible for full registration with the UK/German chamber of physicians. In addition, previous exposure to ACHD or paediatric cardiology is of advantage.

The post is funded by the EMAH Stiftung Karla Völlm (bursary of 29,460 € for the first year and 44,400 € for the second year to cover the costs of living) and we will cover regularly trips between the centres as well as attendance of scientific/educational Cardiology/ACHD meetings.

The start of the program is end of 2017, but some flexibility exists to accommodate the needs of candidates.
